Psychic Skill Guide

This is my opinion on skills. I can only say what I think you should have, it's really only a personal preference. Please do note, however, that what I have written here is based on personal experience. I have made my mistakes and learned from them. That is largely what led to me writing this guide, The Skills section is the MOST critical part of this guide because the skills that you have, and the level of those skills, will determine your effectiveness in the Psychic role that you choose to play.

Every skill is connected to a tree (except mastery's), and the previous skill must be learned beforehand.

The Trees for a Cleric are are Healing, Buffing, Damage, and Metal.

Masteries:

 

Aqua Spirit -

Learned at level 29
Mastered at level 74

Increases water damage from 2-20%. You definitely want this.

Sage: Water damage is increased by 35%
Demon: Critical cast chance is increased by 1% (On water spells only)

Earthen Spirit -

Learned at level 29
Mastered at level 74

Increases earth damage from 2-20%. You definitely want this.

Sage: Earth damage is increased by 35%
Demon: Increases Defense Level by an additional 3.

Tide Form -

Learned at level 9
Mastered at level 54

Not really a Mastery, but it doesn't belong with a tree either.

Increases Defense Level from 5.5-10 and Swimming Speed from 26%-80%. Currently we are unable to use skills while in this form so I consider it fairly useless.

Sage: Increases Swim speed by an additional 25%
Demon: Critical cast chance is increased by 1% (On earth spells only)

The Water Tree

 

Aqua Impact -

Learned at level 1
Mastered at level 45

Nice starting water nuke with a chance to slow down the enemy. Usually the starting combo skill Good for keeping away physical mobs.

Sage: Slows target by 50%.
Demon: Has a 20% to reduce opponents chi by 30.

Black Voodoo -

Learned at level 9
Requisite Skill ~ Aqua Impact Level 1
Mastered at level 54

Buff that lasts for 15 minutes and increase attack level by a certain amount but decreases defense level by a smaller amount. Good for increased damage but makes you take harder hits. This skill is awesome for the solo grind, but not recommended in instances or where a boss has a nasty AoE.

Sage: Attack level is increased by an additional 3.
Demon: Defense level is reduced by 3 points less.

Torrent -

Learned at level 19
Requisite Skill ~ Black Voodoo Level 1
Mastered at level 64

A skill that does DPS based on Mag. ATK. Don't really recommend leveling until later because you would usually take out something in a few hits with your nukes. It's ok on a boss.

Sage: Additional damage is increased by 1,200.
Demon: Duration is reduced by 3 seconds.

Bubble of Life -

Learned at level 24
Requisite Skill ~ Torrent
Mastered at level 69

The only Psychic healing skill, but also happens to be AoE. I recommend it in case your squads needing some extra healing or you are being attacked by multiple mobs. Recommended to keep at max level.

Sage: Dispels negative statuses. (i.e. Purify)
Demon: Reduces cool down by 5 seconds.

Aqua Cannon -

Learned at level 29
Requisite Skill ~ Bubble of Life
Mastered at level 74

High damage water AoE. Slows down everyone within 8 meters. Unless you have a squad or can one hit the mobs you are going to fight this skill isn't really usefull. Can be annoying in TW. Mostly it just gets you into trouble. Also note, this is NOT a ranged skill. (Makes you wonder why they call it Cannon)

Sage: Has a 30% chance to immobilize target for 3 seconds.
Demon: Has a 50% chance to deal additional 4518.8 Water damage over 6 seconds.

Glacial Shards -

Learned at level 39
Requisite Skill ~ Aqua Cannon
Mastered at level 75

This is another water AoE, which is really good in TW because of its chance to immobilize enemies within a large range. Also has nice damage. I Recommend it as a secondary skill.

Sage: The immobilize duration is increased by 2 seconds.
Demon: The chance to immobilize is increased to 75%.

Empowered Vigor -

Learned at level 44
Requisite Skill ~ Glacial Shards
Mastered at level 80

This increases healing from skills, potions and decreases charm cooldown. An absolute must for casting on a tank or when you hit that nasty mob with Increased Magic Resistance. High Leveling Priority.

Sage: The cool down time of Health charm is reduced by 1 more second.
Demon: Healing effect of skills is boosted by 5% and that of potions is increased by 10%.

Disturb Soul -

Learned at level 49
Requisite Skill ~ Empowered Vigor
Mastered at level 85

Destructive PvP skill that will slow down channeling time, up to 80% maxed. Will annoy most classes but especially Wizards and give you an edge over them.
DO NOT USE this skill on bosses where the barb is trying to cancel AoE. (Polearm and Guarnob are prime examples.)

Sage: Increases the channeling time of the skill by 100%.
Demon: Duration time is increased by 3 seconds.

Tide Spirit -

Learned at level 59
Requisite Skill ~ Disturb Soul
Mastered at level 86

Increases magic damage by a great amount and increases channeling speed. Awesome skill for PvP to take out people fast. Good for getting the extra damage in when you need to and a hard mob/boss.

Sage: The channeling speed increasing effect time is increased by 3 seconds.
Demon:
Adds an effect that increases your critical hit chance by 20% for 15 seconds.

Red Tide -

Learned at level 59
Requisite Skill ~ Tide Spirit
Mastered at level 86

You thought Tempest was cool? This hits em for massive damage AND has a chance to cause a bleed DoT equal to your soulforce! Be ready to fork out some coin though, this one's gonna cost you.

Sage: Has a 50% chance to cost only 1 Spark.
Demon:
The bleed damage is increased to 1.2x Soulforce

The Earth Tree

 

Spirit Blast -

Learned at level 0
Mastered at level 45

Starting earth nuke that is nothing but pure damage, no effects. You should have it at 10 by level 45

Sage: Upon a successful hit, has a 20% chance to gain 30 Chi.
Demon: Additional damage is increased by 361.

White Voodoo -

Learned at level 9
Requisite Skill ~ Spirit Blast
Mastered at level 54

Buff that lasts for 15 minutes and increases defense level by a certain amount but decreases attack level by a larger amount. Good only if you are being swarmed by mobs and/or took aggro from a boss. I will sometimes use it in instances just so I don't take aggro on the mobs.

Sage: Defense level is increased by 5 more points.
Demon: Has an effect that reduces your channeling time by 3%.

Landslide -

Learned at level 19
Requisite Skill ~ White Voodoo
Mastered at level 64

High damage output AND it pushes the mob back! (12.6-18 meters) This is another primary skill that is a MUST to max. Will save your live over and over.

Sage: Cast Range is increased by 3 meters.
Demon: Has a 30% chance to add an effect that increases your critical hit chance by 50% for 4 seconds.

Sand Trap -

Learned at level 29
Requisite Skill ~ Landslide
Mastered at level 74

This is an earth DoT, basically the Earth version of Torrent.

Sage: Increases the additional damage by 1200.
Demon: The duration is reduced by 3 seconds.

Diminished Vigor -

Learned at level 34
Requisite Skill ~ Sand Trap
Mastered at level 78

The skill you will destroy people with in PvP. This skill lowers healing effects from heals, potions and increases the cooldown of charms. Will stop your enemy from recovering too much. In PvE this skill isn't very useful, except maybe in TW,  and is not a priority.

Sage: The cooldown of Health charm is increased by 1 more second.
Demon: The healing effect of skills is reduced by 5% more; that of potions is reduced by 10% more.

Sandburst Blast -

Learned at level 39
Requisite Skill ~ Diminished Vigor
Mastered at level 75

This is an earth AoE, basically the Earth version of Glacial Shards.

Sage: Effect range is increased to 10 meters.
Demon: Has a 20% chance to lower target's Earth defense by 20% for 8 seconds.

Soulburn -

Learned at level 49
Requisite Skill ~ Sandburst Blast
Mastered at level 85

This skill that costs 1 spark. every tame the target attacks it takes damage equal to your soulforce. Lasts for 8 seconds maxed. Pretty good in PvP. Awesome in PvE for doing some nice damage at the beginning of a boss attack without having to worry about getting aggro from it. Highly recommended because the aggro developed goes to the tank.

Sage: Duration is increased by 2 more seconds.
Demon: Cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds.

Earth Vector -

Learned at level 59
Requisite Skill ~ Soulburn
Mastered at level 56

This is just like Red Tide, except it's Earth, and instead of a Bleed, it does a Stun. This skill is great in TW and PvP. Don't forget your checkbook.

Sage: Has a 50% to cost no Spark.
Demon: Effect range is increased to 8 meters.

Psychic Will -

Learned at level 59
Requisite Skill ~ Soulburn
Mastered at level 86

This skill removes any negative statuses from the target and makes it immune to physical damage for 8 seconds maxed. Excellent for when you've stolen aggro and need a couple of seconds for the tank to get it back. Another great PvP skill. Great if your being attacked by a BM, Barb or Archer.

Sage: The immunity duration is increased by 2 seconds.
Demon: Has a 20% chance to cost no Spark.

Soul Tree

Note on these skills. So far what I know on them is that when you level them up the only thing that changes is an increased mana cost (just to cast the skill not for it to activate) and an increased range. I have not gotten to the Sage/Demon point so I don't know what bonuses Sage'Demon will give. Do not level them up above 1, otherwise its a waste of Spirit.

 

Soul of Vengeance -

Learned at level 9
Mastered at level 54

A nice buff that deals 8% of your soul force to your target every time it attacks you, and also reduce the attacker will lose 0.8% of your soulforce. If the target has no mana the target will not receive the reflected damage. Nice PvP skill because it works for both Physical and Magical attacks. Ask before casting this on others, especially barbs. they have a very small mana pool to begin with and this will deplete it quickly.

Note: You can die, or relog, and this effect will still be there.

Sage: No mana cost when reflecting damage.
Demon: The reflected damage is increased by 4% of caster's Soulforce.

Soul of Stunning -

Learned at level 29
Requisite Skill ~ Soul of Vengeance
Mastered at level 74

Excellent PvP skill that stuns attacker for 1 second + 1/5000Soulforce. This is your stun lock. Costs 100 mana per successful stun. In PVE this skill isn't very useful since the mobs won't be hitting you much anyway. (Self-cast only)
Note: You can die, or relog, and this effect will still be there.

Sage: Every 4000 Soul force you have will increase the Stun time by 1 second.
Demon: The fixed Stun time is increased by 1 second.

Soul of Silence -

Learned at level 39
Requisite skill ~ Soul of Stunning
Mastered at level 75

Another nice PvP skill that silences your attacker, the target also loses mana. The silencing and mana loss is determined by your soulforce. This will stop the physical classes from stun locking you. For Pve, I don't use it much.

Sage: The silence time is increased to 5 seconds.
Demon: The chance of silence is 1.2x that of the LV10 version.

Soul of Retaliation -

Learned at level 59
Requisite Skill ~ Soul of Silence
Mastered at level 86

Great PvP skill that gives your attacker the same negative status inflicted on you. Reduces damage you take by your soulforce and reflect damage to your attacker. This effect reduces your mana by 100. last for 30 seconds. Also good for those mana drain mobs if you don't kill them before they touch you.
Note: In PvP this skill DOES NOT work against Cleric seals and debuffs.

Sage: Heals the caster by 15% of Max Health.
Demon: Reflects damage equal to 0.6x Soulforce.

The Level 79 Skills

 

Essential Sutra -

An alright skill that increases your, (or a friendly targets), flying speed by 60% for 15 seconds. Very useful for getting away if in danger or being mobbed by several people.

Crystal Light -

A damage skill that hits everyone in a line in front of you. Slows down all enemies by 80% for 5 seconds. Which will basically stop them in their tracks. Good for annoying and slowing down everyone on the opposing team in a TW.


The Level 100 Skills

 

Sandball Clash -

A medium - high damaging spell that has a 50% chance to silence your opponent for 5 seconds. Very useful in any PvP situation.

Stone Smasher -

This is the Black Ice Dragon of a Psychic. Deals 400% of magic attack + 10,253 damage + it reduces the targets attack speed by 30% for 8 seconds. Very high damage but downside is 60 second cool down and costs 2 sparks.
Oh almost forgot to mention, It's an AoE too, covers an 8 Meter radius from the target. What more do you need?
